Last year I wrote a post titled Christmas jumpers – hit or miss? where I shared my thoughts and how I believe them to be something that people seem to love or hate. If you read that post then you will already know that I’m a lover! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to see if my opinions are still the same, and if I have any new thoughts to share (spoiler…I do). So, if you fancy a quick festive read then stick with me.
Ok, so to start things off I love Christmas jumpers, and this year I’m of the opinion that it’s totally acceptable and lots of fun to wear them throughout December. This isn’t just because I want to get my money’s worth, although that might play a part. I just think they are a great way to get in the festive mood. After all, we don’t just put the tree up for the one day do we. Why shouldn’t everything associated with Christmas last for as much of December as possible?! I can’t believe I waited until Christmas Day in previous years!
I do still think they are a love them or hate them thing though. I’m still waiting to find that person that is indifferent, they always spark strong opinions whenever I bring them up in conversation.

My post last year was written and published on Christmas Eve, had I written it after Christmas I would have been able to share my nephew’s thoughts. I asked him his opinion on Christmas jumpers (he was six at the time) and he said they are comfy and funny…can’t argue with that! Prior to this conversation I hadn’t considered the effect that me wearing a Christmas jumper might have on other people. It was always about me and how I felt, but now when I wear one and I’m out and about I realise it probably makes a lot of people (not just children) smile and that makes me smile.

I considered buying a Christmas jumper for my daughter but I found the cutest onesie instead so that is what she will be wearing on Christmas Day. Next year however when she’s bigger I’m definitely going to get her one. I managed to convince my other half to have one this year so I can’t wait for us all to look Christmassy together. Some might say we look silly but I don’t care, I think it’s fun and that’s what’s important.

With all the stress that comes with this time of year, the pressure etc. a Christmas jumper is a great reminder that enjoyment should be the main priority. Making memories and having a good time, that’s what Christmas means to me.
So, overall, another year has passed and I’m still as obsessed with Christmas jumpers as I was last year…perhaps even more so. The more ridiculous the better in my opinion!

I wouldn’t wear one, ever 😀
Oddly I’m sure that people never used to wear them or talk about them, is a recent thing? Or has come over from America?

Oh no! Why not? I agree, it does seem to be a recent thing, I only recall them being popular in recent years, I don’t remember them from when I was a kid anyway. I wonder where they did originate from. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂

I don’t find jumpers comfortable at all (too itchy!) and I prefer to wear plain things. Boring I know 😉

I must admit when I got a new one this year there were quite a few that looked lovely but were super itchy so I can relate to that! Haha not boring at all, we like what we like after all. Boring would be if we were all the same 🙂

I ADORE CHRISTMAS JUMPERS!!!!!! I have two. One with flashing lights and one with sparkly embellishment. The more over the top the better lol 😂😂😂

Wonderful! Happy to find someone else that thinks the more over the top the better! Mine are sparkly too, lots of sequins! I love the sound of a flashing one, that’s next on my list haha. Thanks for sharing 🙂

It’s a bit cheeky as well, which is why I like it. It’s a green jumper with a stocking on it and the words above simply say: “Well Hung”. It’s hilarious how many people see the jumper and don’t read the words and the moment they realise is priceless.

My workplace wouldn’t allow jumpers like that haha 🙂

A lot of places wouldn’t but it’s not hugely offensive, just a wee bit cheeky. How’s your Friday?
