Questions set by Emer
What is your least favourite bookish trope?
There are quite a few that I feel are so overdone by now but if I had to pick one I would say when love bridges the class divide. The whole rich falls in love with poor? I’m just over it now. I’ve read it so many times, and as I don’t think anybody can write it quite as well as Jane Austen did I don’t want to read it unless it’s in the pages of her books.
What is your favourite type of breakfast food?

Definitely poached eggs but embarrassingly I’m usually too lazy to make them. I know it’s bad but most days I skip breakfast and just have a coffee or three.
It’s a dark and stormy winter’s night. What book would you curl up beside the fire to reread?
Ah, if only I had a real fire to curl up beside! I would choose The Woman in Black, dark and stormy nights call for a ghost story in my opinion and this is one of, if not the best that I have read.
Do you prefer bookstagram or bookish twitter?
I have to say bookstagram because I don’t use twitter so I’m unfamiliar with it. I do love bookstagram! My bank balance probably doesn’t though, I hold it responsible for a lot of my bookish purchases!
Is there anyone else in your family or circle of friends that reads?
My mum and sister love reading. As far as friends, it’s kind of a 50/50 split, some are readers and others (weirdly haha) never pick up a book!
Has any book ever given you nightmares? If yes then what book?
I can’t think of a book that has…I obviously haven’t read the right horror yet, I’m open to suggestions!
Do you like to keep your books in pristine condition or are you happy to write in them or dog ear them etc?

I admit that I am a spine breaker. I’m not against annotations but I tend to write my thoughts, favourite quotes etc. in my reading journal instead. Dog ears are a big no!
What is your favourite song right now?
Definitely Outnumbered by Dermot Kennedy. I’m averaging about 10 plays a day at the moment!
Have you any other hobbies besides reading?

Reading and writing are my main hobbies, I don’t really have any others.
Are you a member of any book groups either online or in real life?
I’m not no, but I do think I should definitely check some out!
What book that is not yet published are you most excited to read?
I’m really intrigued by My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell. Stephen King has said it’s “A hard story to read and a harder one to put down” and I’m looking forward to checking it out. It’s gathered quite a lot of attention and great critical reviews so I have high expectations!
And that’s it! What did you think of my answers? As always I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions!
I’m throwing this out to anybody that wants to do it, so if that is you then please consider yourself tagged! I will however tag a few of my favourite blogs as well, and they are:
There’s no obligation to take part of course but I look forward to reading your answers if you do!
My eleven questions
1 – What was your favourite book as a child?
2 – How many languages can you speak, and what are they?
3 – Do you plan out your reading or are you a mood reader?
4 – Tea or coffee?
5 – What is your favourite book to reread?
6 – Are you an early bird or a night owl?
7 – Do you read one book at a time or multiple books at once?
8 – What is your number one pet peeve?
9 – Do you prefer a hardback, paperback or E book?
10 – Do you have any phobias? If yes, what are they?
11 – Which is more important, a book title or a book cover?
Thanks for reading, I hope that you enjoyed! I love tag posts, so I had a lot of fun answering questions and thinking up my own ones to ask. I’ve done a couple of question and answer posts before so I will link them at the end if you would like to check them out.

Thanks so much for nominating me! 🙂
I don’t write tag posts any more, so I will answer your q’s here:
1. Harry Potter.
2. Just English… and cat?
3. Neither, I randomly generate my reads.
4. Tea!
5. Harry Potter again – or To Kill a Mockingbird
6. Night owl.
7. Sometimes 2 books at once, 1 on e-reader, 1 printed.
8. I have too many pet peeves, I can’t pick one out.
9. Paperbacks
10. Phobias… people, I think.
11. Interesting one… a title I suppose, but covers are important.

You’re welcome! Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions, it was really interesting to read your answers 🙂 I can relate to so many of your answers but as a self confessed coffee addict I would definitely pick coffee over tea haha. I’m also so glad you chose paperbacks, they are my favourite too 🙂

I have heard similar things about Her Dark Vanessa. And The Woman in Black is a perfect read for a dark evening. Very haunting!

Will you be reading Her Dark Vanessa when it is released? I don’t think it’ll be an easy read but I’m too intrigued to not pick myself up a copy! The Woman in Black is so great isn’t it, just the book for this time of year! Thanks for commenting 🙂
